Buying in Bayside

Keen to buy in Bayside?

The City of Bayside is located southeast of Melbourne, along Port Phillip Bay, which forms the western boundary of Bayside, while Nepean Highway and the Melbourne to Frankston railway line form most of the eastern boundary. The northern most boundary runs along Glen Huntly Road and is just eight kilometres from Melbourne’s central business district. Bayside covers an area of 37 square kilometres.

Let’s look more closely at the Bayside suburbs to see what types of properties have sold there and what some of the more popular price points might be.

Entry level

These properties will have less land and may be a townhouse. Depending on the suburb itself, the property may be located on a busier street to stay at a lower price point. Here are a couple of examples:

Bright and spacious single-level townhouse in Beaumaris – sold for $1.35m

3-bedroom low-maintenance townhouse in Hampton – sold for $1.185m

Small family

These properties are perfect for a young or smaller family who want a little bit more space to work from home or for the children. There are still some significant price differences to be had within various Bayside suburbs as you will see by these examples:

90s home with dual living zones in Sandringham – sold for $2.41m

Brand new 5-bedroom home in Hampton East – sold for $2.18m

Renovated single-level 3-bedroom in Sandringham – sold for $1.95m

Low-maintenance townhouse with a pool in Hampton – sold for $2.385m

Established family

As the family gets older and the kids start looking for more freedom, having dual living zones and more outdoor greenspace becomes more important. Here are some examples of larger homes, 2 nicely renovated and 1 needing more TLC:

Captivating family entertainer in Hampton – sold for $2.958m

Elevated Hamptons-inspired 4-bedroom home in Beaumaris – sold for $3.1m

Large home in family lifestyle pocket in Black Rock – sold for $2.9m
